Only three years after Bharat suggested I try upgrading to Gallery2, I finally bit the bullet. And since then I've been catching up with posting pictures from the last year. What's new: |

When I find spam comments, I delete them. When I find funny spam comments, I giggle and then delete them. At least one recent comment was so funny that I decided I should start keeping some of them. So henceforth, I'll move all spammy comments to this post. |

Roughly a month ago I decided to try walking down every public street in San Francisco, a challenge which should end up taking more than a year. Assuming that the streets of SF are 850 miles in total, I'm 13% finished as of today. I've started a separate site dedicated to the finds and happenings of this journey. If anything, those stories should be much more entertaining and educational, so honestly I must recommend that you read that instead of this. Wireless edge card in my laptop: Oh my god, I've been unplugged!
me: What? You haven't been unplugged, I'm looking right now and you're still firmly seated.
Edge card: I'm pretty sure you unplugged me. I was definitely unplugged, and who else would do that?
me: Look, you haven't be unplugged. [wiggles card slightly]
Edge card: Gah! Stay away from me, mister, I'll scream!
me: I was just doing that to prove that you're still plugged in and you've been plugged in all this time. Your antenna was down, but that has nothing to do with being unplugged. [raises antenna]
Edge card: RAPE! RAPE! He's raping me, someone help!
me: Shut the hell up. First you interrupt my work by insisting you were unplugged when you weren't, now you accuse me of rape?
Police officer: hey, what's going on here?!
Edge card: Help, this guy is raping me! |

I spent the morning today randomly wandering around the Mission, and noticed a few interesting things. Firstly, there's an EFF office on Shotwell about a half mile from my house. Turns out it's the main office, which fills my heart with joy, because no one fights evil harder smarter than the EFF. |

Second, I'm sure you're all familiar with those fake buildings fire fighters use for training. Station 7 has a really nice fake building. Moreover, it's a building I wouldn't mind living in (except for it being filled with smoke a couple of times a week). Of coures I also saw dozens of murals. Strangely enough, there was a huge and beautiful mural on the side of Foods Co, a company that I usually don't associate with character. The fire department's phoenix mural gets runner-up for general aesthetic. |

Driving to Ellie's parents house this morning for the traditional Chinese New Year's breakfast feast, I had an amusing thought. Those dancing dragons you see in parades--imagine one doing the robot. The robot dance, that is. Kraftwerk playing in the background, fire crackers going off, jaw swinging wildly. |

If anyone can do a good robot dance, let me know. We'll see about getting a dragon costume. |
